Vegan Sunscreen

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Mineral sunscreen provides equal or superior protection regardless of vegan status. SPF rating measures protection objectively. Vegan formulas deliver the same UVA/UVB defense as conventional options.
Not our formula. We specifically exclude pore-clogging animal ingredients and design for non-comedogenic performance. Vegan doesn't mean heavy or problematic. It means ethically sourced while remaining effective.
Read the ingredient list carefully and search for unfamiliar terms. Look for vegan certification on packaging. Avoid lanolin, beeswax, collagen, elastin, chitin, carmine, and animal-derived squalene. When in doubt, research the brand's sourcing practices.
Cruelty-free means no animal testing during development. Vegan means zero animal ingredients or by-products in the formula. A product can be cruelty-free without being vegan, or vice versa. Look for both certifications if both matter to you.
Ours are. Mineral sunscreen formulations are inherently reef-friendly because they use zinc oxide and titanium dioxide instead of harmful chemical filters like oxybenzone and octinoxate. Vegan plus reef-safe provides double environmental benefit.
Plant-based ingredients can trigger sensitivity in some people, though less frequently than animal derivatives. Our formulas are hypoallergenic and dermatologist-tested to minimize sensitivity risk while maintaining vegan integrity.
